Biomass burners use renewable biomass as a source of fuel. Most biomass burners operate by creating a vortex to ignite a fine-ground product and burning it in less than one second, resulting in a hot ignited gas that can be put in to a drying system. Biomass burners are most commonly used for drying wood chips and sawdust, which are used to make wood pellets, particle board and other wood composite materials. Biomass burners are also used for many other drying applications including feed, fertilizer and chemicals.
